Inspirit Capital has entered into an agreement to acquire Landmark Solutions, the managed geospatial data services division of Reading-based Landmark Information Group, which is a subsidiary of DMGT.
Landmark Solutions works on geospatial, data-focused cloud hosting projects, as well as supplying consultancy and support services.
The business has expanded its capabilities through the development of Software-as-a-Service and Data-as-a-Service products built from its expertise in geospatial datasets. It will go through a rebrand which is to be announced in due course.
Landmark Information Group executive chairman Stephen Stout said: “Our board has determined that this transaction aligns with our future strategic direction and is the best course of action to realise the long-term potential of Landmark Solutions. We wish Chris Brackley and the team well.”
Chris Brackley, managing director of Landmark Solutions, added: “The Inspirit team are experienced investors that will help us to build on our existing track record and unlock our growth potential as a standalone business.
“We are excited about the prospect of partnering with them and taking our business to the next level.”
London-based Inspirit focuses on acquiring UK-headquartered businesses which are no longer core to their parent company’s strategic objectives and demonstrate strong growth potential.
Will Stamp, founding Partner at Inspirit Capital said: “We have been impressed by the strong revenue growth at Landmark Solutions in recent years and look forward to providing an entrepreneurial platform from which the business can accelerate this growth trend.”
Albert Farrant, founding partner at Inspirit Capital, added: “Chris Brackley and his team have built an outstanding business that has consistently won large data contracts despite competition from global diversified technology conglomerates.
“We believe that Landmark Solutions is very well positioned to take advantage of the significant opportunities that exist in the market and are excited about partnering with the business as it embarks on this next stage in its journey.”
