As the chill begins to fade and the flowers start to emerge from the ground, it is time for Spring Baking Championship Season 8. While Duff Goldman, Nancy Fuller and Sunny Anderson return to the judging table, a new host takes the reigns. And, she inspires some of the season’s baking challenges.

For Spring Baking Championship Season 8, Molly Yeh, joins the Food Network baking competition. While many people know Yeh from her show Girl Meets Farm, that farm is going to inspire some of the upcoming challenges.

While that life on the farm serves as inspiration, Yeh is ready to bring a new spark to the popular baking competition. From tremendous twists to double eliminations, this season will be unlike previous challenges. Although bakers will want to showcase spring flavors and colors, the tricks might be more reminiscent of a “fall” holiday.

As Yeh shared, “Hosting Spring Baking Championship was a magical sugar rush. Getting to know the amazing group of bakers, throwing farm-centric challenges at them, and eating all of the incredible sweets that they baked up was nothing short of a dream. Throw in the opportunity to eat all of these sweets with Kardea, Nancy and Duff, and I’m still pinching myself. I cannot wait for audiences to see this season!”

Adding Yeh to the mix seems like a perfect match. In addition to being a great baker, Yeh is extremely likeable. She should be able to make the bakers feel at ease in the competition.

Spring Baking Championship Season 8 is set to premiere on Monday, February 28. Twelve bakers will take on various challenges including fruit tarts, floral cakes and even a Mardi Gras inspired dessert. While there will be only one champion, the Food Network fans will have plenty of treats to enjoy.

Although the complete list of bakers has yet to be revealed, it will be interesting to see the mix of bakers. While pastry professors have done well over the recent competitions, that pattern might need to be broken. Could it be a season where a home baker secures the victory?
